I did my weekly shopping today at Publix and boy did I get some good deals! Here’s a picture of what I purchased (minus the 12-pack of Coke to take to the church picnic tomorrow – I forgot I had already put it in the fridge when I took the picture):

I only paid full price for the…wait, I didn’t pay full price for anything! Even the stuff I needed that I didn’t have coupons for was on sale: eggs and breast milk storage bags. Score!

Here’s a recap of some of the best deals I got:

All laundry detergent: on sale for $2.99 each, plus I had 2 $2.00 off coupons = $0.99 each!!!

Cascadian Farms organic frozen fruits and vegetables: on sale for $1.99, add that to my 6 $1.00 off manufacturer’s coupons and my 2 $2.00 off store coupons = $0.32 each!!! These are normally anywhere from $2.50 to $3.50, so I was super excited about this deal.

Benadryl Allergy: (very timely sale, the pollen is unbelievable right now!) on sale for $3.99 each, add to that my $5.00 off two coupon = $1.50 each!!!

I scored other great deals too by combining coupons and sales, so my grand total (including $4.99 for the Coke) was

My total before coupons was around $75, and my receipt says that between coupons and sales I saved a total of $60.66 off regular prices, including $35.16 in coupons alone!

I do need to once again mention that many of these items are not ones I would normally buy without getting a great deal, so the amount saved is a bit skewed for me but it was still a great trip!

We are starting our Eat From the Pantry Challenge next week, so this weekend’s shopping trip was mainly for dairy and produce. Our Publix actually had some great produce deals and we were able to snag 3 cartons of fresh strawberries for $5! We also got some plum tomatoes for $1.29/lb and we were able to stock up on bananas to freeze for our shakes.

I couldn’t resist stocking up on vegetable oil that was Buy One Get One Free since we ran out a few weeks ago and I’ve been watching the sales to find some cheap!

But we were still able to get all of the above, plus milk and eggs, for about $19. The best part was that Andy did the shopping today since I was working, so I didn’t even have to brave the Saturday grocery crowds! All in all today was a success!

This week was all about stocking up. We’re definitely an Italian food loving family, so the sales at Publix this week were right up our alley!

I spent $43.80 on the items below, and with coupons and sales I saved $66.44.

Here’s what I bought:

10 boxes Meuller’s whole wheat spaghetti ($0.16 each after BOGO and coupons)

2 gallons milk ($3.19 regular price)

2.83 lbs Publix hot italian sausage (on sale for $2.49/lb)

2 lbs grapes (on sale for $1.69/lb)

1 lb plum tomatoes (on sale for $1.29/lb)

4 cartons chicken broth ($0.55 each after BOGO and coupons)

2 canisters bread crumbs ($0.72 each after BOGO and coupons)

2 cans of chickpeas ($0.42 each after sale and coupons)

2 canisters grated cheese (1 parmesan, 1 romano) ($2.00 each after sale and coupons)

4 loaves Cole’s garlic bread ($0.65 each after BOGO and coupons)

1 bottle Barefoot Sauvignon Blanc (on sale for $6.99)

I also had a $5 off $50 purchase coupon from a competitor and she scanned it before all the other coupons, so I got that discount as well!

This week was a great shopping week, I’m stocking up so we can eat from the pantry and freezer next month. I usually budget $50 per week for groceries and next month I’m going to budget $20 per week, since we’ll still need things like dairy and produce. I’m confident we can easily do it after the past few weeks of great shopping trips!
