When I was pregnant I had a terrible sweet tooth. (ok, that is not an excuse…I STILL do) a friend of mine showed me this awesome recipe for making your own Caramel Pop Corn treats a couple of years back and I wanted to share with you!
- 1/2 cup Karo Syurp
- 2 Cups butter
- 2 Cups Brown Sugar
- 1 Bag Popcorn or Corn Puffs (I like these because they have less butter than popcorn and aren’t oily)
1. Cook all ingredients together in a small pot. Let it cook for about 15 min on low
2. spread over pop corn or alternative
3. I suggest letting it sit for about 1 hour. The best butter for this would be something not oil based as the sauce will set better and not be sticky.
Now, this is very unhealthy but oh so yummy! We eat this on special occasions such as birthdays, but a really great treat!
