I’ve been spending a lot of time reading. Right now, it is Your Money or Your life. It is a little slow, but the author makes some serious points about money and it controlling your life and the happiness factor. The book mentions Financial Independence a lot.
I decided to look up the definition and was suddenly smacked in the face with the realness of it:
Financial independence is generally used to describe the state of having sufficient personal wealth to live, without having to work actively for basic necessities
Early in my adulthood I thought that life was about working. Making money to live and it was going to be that way for the rest of your life. What is this financial freedom you speak of?
My motivation is to be financially free. Hopefully this blog will motivate you to be the same. Why let money control your freedom?
How I define Financial Independence:
- no debt
- Secure retirement
- monthly income provided by passive income source
what is your definition of financial freedom?
