Update on Life: Moved In!

Hey! Thanks for visiting. If you like what you see here, I'd love to invite you over to the Smart Money Mom Facebook Page . I post updates instantly there often--so you never miss a thing! Thanks for visiting!

As of today, we are completely settled in our new house! (ignore my mix match dining room chairs 😉 ) Many of you have been following the ups and downs of our house hunt journey and we are thrilled to finally feel like we are home. 🙂

My stockpile is another story.. I’m pretty certain it will take me a month or so to get it all organized. This is how far I’ve got. 🙂

The last couple of days have been eye opening. We are still pinching ourselves and trying to wake up from the dream. There is something about home ownership that is just SO freeing.

To be completely honest, 1 year ago– I didn’t think homeownership was going to be a reality for us. Despite our efforts, we always seemed to have some sort of hiccup. We’ve been through a lot.. Saving more than 40% of our income for a down payment, Tax Fraud issues, IRS issues and more.

The moral of the story is: If you believe it, it WILL happen!

Now that we are moved in– I’m ready to get started on holiday shopping! If you’ve been around the blog for sometime, you know that it is NON Stop deals around here.. maybe a little too many deals 😉

This time of year is HUGE for online sales– I will also have a Black Friday Comparison sheet available soon, this is a great tool to compare the lowest price on items from last year–so you can have something to compare to this year.

Hopefully you will all stick around and let me help you find some deals??! 🙂

Josie, as someone who is going through what you just did over the past year, I am glad that you have updated us on the successful resolution of all of the issues that you were encountering. Thank you also for being such a huge reason why our family has been able to pay down our debt and save up money to look for a home. We really appreciate you!!!

Congratulations, and I want to concur on that special “feeling” you get when you own. I remember my first condo (bought in 1989 — 1 bedroom condo in San Diego/Mira Mesa for $56,500!) and I remember I painted a wall a rose color, and I thought, “I never have to ask anyone’s permission again.” Then in 1996, when we bought our first house, I remember turning up the TV at 11:30 p.m. and thought, I never have to worry about disturbing my neighbors. I used to always tell those stories to my first-time homebuyers.

P.S. You guys worked your tails off to get where you are at — it’s quite admirable.

Congratulations Josie! I am so happy for you and the family! I know that wonderful feeling of being in your own home — who cares if furniture does not match. I remember taking a staple gun and $1 fabric to a couch that was donated to us during our first few months in our house. We kept that couch for at least 5 years! lol

So proud of you and I cannot thank you enough for helping me save these last few years!

Congratulations. You’ve worked so hard towards your goal and now you can reap the rewards. I’ve been following you for a very long time. So I’m not going anywhere. Before, during and after your move lol.
