I have to rant here for a second.
I have been blessed with a great area to live in when it comes to couponing. I can say that there aren’t too many crazy shelf clearing couponers in my town. I am usually able to find one or two of something on a hot deal has been released. I’m ok with that..because I would rather save some for you guys 🙂
I am also blessed with some great drugstores within driving distance of my house. As most of you know…I LOVE Rite Aid. Even when Rite Aid is slow certain weeks..I always end up finding something worth heading there for. 😉
My local Rite aid is wonderful..The manager there completely GETS IT. He understands that he must have stock in the store when a great freebie comes around. He pays attention to the sales weeks before they happen and makes sure that he orders enough.
He also welcomes coupons. He is all about saving money and is a smart guy in thinking like this..I mean think about it. Every coupon that you redeem at his store he makes money on it. It’s only$0.08-.12 cents but If you have enough coupons going into the store that can equal GREAT money for a store. Anyhoo–
The other day I was approached by my favorite Rite Aid on an opinion on a coupon. There were two of them in question. One scanned the other did not. After looking at it I noticed that the coupon had been blown up and photocopied. My heart dropped. They also informed me that people have been taking advantaged of having more than two wellness cards per household. There was a person in front of me who was being rejected because they wanted to do a third transaction with a different card. This saddens me. This store is so awesome and the people who work there are great.
It’s become obvious that certain shoppers are taking advantage of this great coupon friendly store. The manager let me know that it was unfortunate but he was now going to have to be much stricter, by not allowing two cards per household and only one per person. He will no longer accept coupons that do not scan or beep (the sad thing is that a lot of coupons beep at Rite Aid for no reason–so this may be hard to get around)
I am very sad by this. I can completely understand why stores get coupon “anger” as I call it. There are so many people who may be taking advantage of this. I get why stores get upset over coupons. Maybe I take this personally because it is already very hard to find such a great store like this…lately with all the hype, stores have changed their policies and have become strict. So I ask.. When does it get to be just too much when it comes to getting a deal?
